hawt, cool, and interesting jewelry!

When Tithi Kutchamuch learned that her dog died a month before she was able to return to her parents' home, she realized that she wished she could have taken her pet with her everywhere. From there, she developed the idea of a secret friend: jewellery that was part of a pet animal that stayed at home. The jewellery acts as the connection when you are out and completes the sculpture when you are safely home again. Parrot Companion Parrot is the largest piece in the collection and the closest to life size, in order that the connection be made stronger.

ya'll know this is cool...

From Tim Vinke, a Styrofoam mobile office with desk and chairs that fit together like pieces of a puzzle. "Het Kruikantoor is a combination of the words wheelbarrow and office. All interior elements can be combined, to which the object can be moved easily."

Barcode Paintings

I'm in love with these paintings... it inspires me to try something new!

Artist and interior designer Karen Blackerby incorporates travel into her practice by employing a variety of styles and media to create artwork based on her time on the road and the traditions of other countries. Blackerby's series of Barcode paintings is inspired by travels through South America; each slice represents a different experience and each painting documents a different country. Working with a mix of black and white and colour, Blackerby is successful in catching the eye, yet teasing with a taste of a hidden entirety. Also of interest are the artist's eggshell mosaics (on her website) that are drawn upon experiences in Southeast Asia.

My Heart Shall Not Fear

Looking at life and what lies beyond death, Brandi Milne gets ready for a new show of work that is not without its dark side. Judging from the preview images from the exhibition opening at the end of June, a narrative touching on survival, escape and the chase is to be expected. Milne's hauntingly gothic work is showing more depth and texture, and we can't help but see the intertextuality in the painting after the jump: out, damned spot! Out, I say!

Bucklow’s work is included in the public collections of The MoMa, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Victoria & Albert Museum, The High Museum and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
